“Parents disappoint us because we set expectations they can never live up to” states Edwin in the context of discussing about Grande’s parents in the memoir called “A Dream Called Home” (“Grande” p. 13). The quote seems to be disturbing according to me as I feel the pain when someone expects something from the parents and could not get it back in return. Parents are the most faithful and trustworthy company in children’s lives. So, when the disappointment comes, it may take away the trust from the kids’ lives. I have chosen this quotation because this is the precondition of the unsettlement and the trust issues of the children’s lives.
